"I always knew he was beautiful. I didn't know someone could prove it to me."
— Margaret C., Golden Retriever mom

First Session
Biscuit
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, 14 weeks
We brought him in still smelling like the breeder's house. He sat on that wooden stool and tilted his head like he already knew he was the subject. I cried before the first shutter click.

Session: 2 hours in-studio
First Week Home
She'd spent eight months in a shelter. Six days with us. The portrait shows her watching something off-camera with this expression — not afraid, not guarded. Just curious. That was the first time I saw who she was going to become.

Hazel
Pit Bull mix, rescue — adopted 6 days prior

Last Portrait
Theodore
Labrador mix, 14 years
He could barely climb the two steps into the studio. He lay on the floor and the photographer lay on the floor with him. That print hangs where I can see it from my bed. Some mornings it still surprises me — how completely known he looks.

"Theodore passed four months after this session. This print is the most important object in my home."

Every session is two hours of unhurried attention.
Tell me about them
Fill out a short form — their name, breed, age, and a photo so I can study the light in their coat before we meet. I read every one.
Two hours, no rush
Sessions happen in my Portland studio or outdoors in light you choose. I work at their pace — treats, breaks, and as many tilted-head moments as they'll give us.
A print worth framing
You receive 8–12 edited portraits and one 11×14 fine art print on Hahnemühle cotton paper, delivered in a linen envelope. Archival for 80 years.
Sessions from $395
Includes studio time, editing, and one fine art print. Additional prints available.
They won't stay this size forever
The tilted head. The grey muzzle.
The ear that never cooperates.
I photograph the version of your animal that exists right now — not a posed show dog, but the actual creature who has memorized your schedule and learned exactly which drawer holds the treats.
Book a Session
Tell me their name first.
Every booking starts with the animal, not the appointment. Share a photo so I can study how the light will fall on their coat before we ever meet.
Response within 24 hours
No payment until session confirmed
Cancellation within 48 hrs, no charge
"I read every intake form myself. By the time you arrive, I already know your animal's name and what makes them nervous."
— Nora Callahan, Muzzle
